EARLY YEARS
For over 50 years, Paul Carroll has become one of Australia’s most trusted destinations for premium, comfort-focused footwear. The story began in 1963, when Paul Carroll arrived in Perth from Dublin, a sixth-generation shoemaker determined to carve his own path. What started as reluctance soon turned into passion, beginning at Ten Gems shoe factory and eventually leading him to open a small repair shop in 1973. From there, the brand steadily grew into a network of stores across Perth, known for quality, expertise, and care.
That same spirit continues today. John Carroll, now Managing Director, joined the business in 1993 with a similar mindset, initially unsure, but quickly drawn in. His leadership has helped evolve Paul Carroll into the modern, customer-focused brand it is today, while staying true to its heritage of craftsmanship, comfort, and genuine service.
THE NEXT BIG STEP
In 2001, Paul Carroll Shoes expanded into manufacturing fashionable corrective footwear with in-house brand, Klouds & Silver Lining and now wholesale multiple brands to over 250 businesses across Australia. Now simply named Paul Carroll, the business is more family orientated than ever with John’s wife and sister heading the Buying and Online teams, while Mr Carroll’s nephew and his wife heads the HR and Operations department. In fact, it’s hard to find someone within the many facets of the business who isn’t connected to the family in some way!
While Paul Carroll continues to grow and develop in order to give our customers the best range and quality products possible, we still remain loyal to our heritage and as a proud Australian-owned-and-operated business. We strive to give our customers 'footwear with a difference' in every aspect of our business and are grateful for the loyalty our customers have shown over the past 50+ years.
ABOUT OUR SHOES
Over time the business has grown considerably, expanding to a total of 11 stores nation-wide as well as the online store servicing the globe. Paul Carroll’s focus has always been to provide customers with the greatest selection of footwear brands from across the globe as well as maintaining the highest level of customer service.
The dedicated buying team spends most of their year travelling to national and international shoe fairs in over twenty countries around the world. It’s there that Paul Carroll source the most unique, innovative and quality products for customers.
In addition to our very own brands Klouds and Silver Lining & Gino Ventori, we stock over 30 brands of shoes, including a portfolio of leading labels such as Ecco, IMAC, Ara, Hispanitas, Pikolinos, Arcopedico, Josef Seibel and Merrell.
In addition, our extensive range includes specialist orthotic styles, extra-wide fitting and vegan shoes, ensuring every footwear requirement is met and catered for.

How long has it been since you last had your feet expertly fitted? As time goes by your feet change and develop new characteristics. Correctly measuring and analysing your foot is a fundamental aspect of the Paul Carroll customer service experience. All our staff are trained in foot evaluation and always strive to present you with the most appropriate range of shoes for your foot. With a large range of sizes and widths in our collection, we are confident there is no foot we cannot fit. We cater for women’s sizes EU 35 to EU 44 and men’s EU 41 to EU 48 in selected sizes, specialising in medium to wide fitting feet.
It’s this large range of sizes and expert service that has podiatrists across the country referring their patients to us for all their footwear and orthotic-friendly shoe needs. Our attention to detail, extensive knowledge of global footwear brands and technology, and our warm and friendly approach to service is why customers come to us first. We are proud to be the biggest stockist of international brands Arcopedico, Bugatti, IMAC and Mephisto along with being major stockists of brand favourites Ara, Gabor, Josef Seibel and Waldlaufer.
