WHAT ARE BUNIONS?

Bunions can be due to genetics or joint conditions, but it's where the large bone on your big toe side (the metatarsal) starts to push outward and the big toe starts to push inward, causing the joint at the base of the big toe to protrude.

SUFFER FROM BUNIONS?

If you're trying to find a pair of stylish and comfortable shoes while dealing with bunions, know that you're not alone!

At Paul Carroll, we design and pick our shoes with comfort (and bunions) in mind. Walking and running no longer needs to be painful!

HERE'S WHAT TO LOOK FOR

  • A shoe with a wide toe-box to allow your toes extra wiggle room.
  • A shoe with in-built or added arch support with an orthotic insert.
  • Flexible uppers that stretch and adjust such as laces, zips or velcro straps.
  • A small heel or a heel no more than 2 inches to avoid pressure on your heels.

HERE'S WHAT TO AVOID

  • Stiff shoes that provide little to no wiggle room. Preferably shoes with stretch and room
  • A narrow toe-box. So definitely no pointed toe shoes, even though they may look nice!
  • Super high heels that will put high amounts of pressure on bunions, causing discomfort and sores
